AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) Tony Finau injured his left ankle joint celebrating a hole-in-one during the Par-3 Tournament at the Masters and then apparently popped it back into place.
Finau flew his basketball to the back of the seventh eco-friendly Wednesday on the Par-3 course with Augusta National and spun it in return into the hole for an ace. Using the running toward the hole in order to celebrate, then turned and backpedaled before landing awkwardly on his still left ankle. He dropped to one leg and ended up pushing the combined back into place.
Finau, ranked No . 34 in the world, wound up withdrawing from the event but trapped around for the final two openings. He gingerly walked to a golfing cart and was driven from the course.
Tom Watson received the exhibition at 6-under, one particular shot better than Tommy Fleetwood plus Thomas Pieters .
Jack Nicklaus’ grandson, who was caddying for the six-time Masters winner, made a hole-in-one at No . 9.
