HUMBLE, TX – Ian Poulter , who said last week after the WGC Dell Match Play that he wasn’ t sure he was going to enjoy this week, showed up. Poulter held the particular lead most of the final round prior to losing it on the back 9. But he recovered to take Beau Hossler to a playoff with a birdie on the 72nd hole at the Houston Open .
Just last week, to the end of the WGC Match Enjoy, Poulter was told he had gained himself a spot in the Masters whenever in fact he had not.
“ I guess I should in no way listen to other people, ” Poulter stated. “ When you finish a circular of golf and the press plus everybody is telling you’ lso are in the Masters, and then you get a text 10 minutes before you tee off to fix everybody, to say, oh, we’ ve made a mistake.
“ Not that’ s a reason or any form or factor, it’ s a little disappointing. ”
He doesn’ to have to worry about that now after acquiring his first win since this year.
It must be a Ryder Cup year!
